FramanAgridev Previous Projects:
Agridev have executed several Global projects in the past and they are listed below for your reference;
Swaziland:
A Cotton production of 600 ha. mainly rainfed. An initial 47 ha. have been equipped with pressure irrigation systems. Agridev also provided the planning of dams to catch the river water.
Egypt: Gemeiza A and Gemeiza B Farms.
The first pressure – (drip and sprinkler) irrigated vegetable projects in the Delta area and in the arid Nubanya area of Egypt were established by Agridev. The Gemeiza A farm included field crops and was aimed at testing and demonstrating the efficiency of new irrigation technologies in an area facing soil salinity problems and future water shortage. In the 36 ha. Gemeiza B farm, crops for seed production was grown, by now many medium and big farms have adopted these technologies resulting in an impressive economic development in the once desert area. The projects are co-financed by the Egyptian and Israeli government.
India: Central Demonstration Farms.
Two Cotton farms in the Akola area (200 ha.) and one in the Parbhani area (100 ha.) have been designed and implemented for the government of Maharashtra state, the largest cotton produce state in India. Drip irrigation systems and farm machinery have been supplied. Agridev’s resident experts participate with local universities personnel in running field trails and introduce advanced agronomic practices with the object of disseminating them among the farmers.
U.S.A:
Agridev provided professional and technical management to Paramount Farming Company a (1,200 ha.) private cotton farm in Ker County California yields at this farm have set records for the entire state of California, about 20 percent higher than the countries average.
Car Project:
A project involving 3 Central Asia Republics - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In each of them a farm about (35 – 60 ha.) was established, equipped with drip and sprinkler irrigation system for the production of open field vegetables are other crops. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan it includes also dry irrigation greenhouses financed by the government of Israel and USA aid.
Italy: Rain Enhancement Project.
This project was aimed at preparing a long range program for rain enhancement in Southern Italy by cloud seeding with Silver Iodine a method successfully working in Israel, thus enlarging available water resources. The project implemented in the regions of Puglia, Sicily and Sardegna in cooperation with EMS Israel, included data collection, establishment of agro-meteorological stations, use of seeding planes, equipment and computerized evaluation of treatments.
Barbados:
Agricultural Diversification project, financed by the World Bank and implemented by Agridev. The project included technical assistance for the development and expansions of cotton production, as one of the substitutes to the sugar-cane monoculture.
